The metallized‑film susceptor that browns and pops kernels in a paper bag was, at the time, a novel materials problem — a coating that absorbs microwaves and converts them to surface heat without burning the paper.
Inline Packaging is founded on a single converting line, with a focus on making susceptor rollstock for popcorn brands and contract fillers. "Inline" is a reference to single‑pass production: susceptor pattern → flexo print → laminate → die‑cut, all on one continuous web.
We start supplying fluorocarbon‑free rollstock to brands moving away from PFAS chemistry. Early FC‑free papers were brittle and prone to leaking — the next seven years were spent refining a bag that could match FC‑treated grease resistance without the chemistry.
We're awarded U.S. Patent 11,407,577 for a demetallized‑film bag construction that places an oil‑barrier film between paper layers in the fold‑prone areas — solving the FC‑free leak problem. In 2022 we complete a new production line purpose‑built for FC‑free rollstock (the original line was designed around FC papers, which behave differently on the press).
We hold 23 patents in microwave‑popcorn packaging, ship rollstock and pre‑made bags to U.S. and EU customers, and run an SQF‑audited plant rated Superior. Most of our senior staff have been working in this category since before it had a name.
